The Environmental Pillar is the organisation through which many Irish environmental NGOs work together on policy issues. The Environmental Pillar is made up of a secretariat and 27 member NGOs, including VOICE.

The European Environmental Bureau
VOICE is a member of the EEB. Created in 1974, the EEB is now Europe’s largest federation of environmental organisations with 140+ member organisations who gain their membership from the general public. Because of this, the EEB is guided by the voices of 15 million European citizens, and act as the ears and voice of its members towards the EU decision makers.
Seas At Risk
VOICE is a member of Seas At Risk, a democratic international network which uses its unique membership base and long-standing expertise to advocate environmentally sound policies at European and international level.
Seas At Risk aims at the protection and restoration of the marine environment, and specifically the waters of the North East Atlantic including the North and Irish Seas.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation based in Bonn, Germany, which was established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
VOICE is a member of FSC Ireland.
International Institute for Sustainable Development
The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is a Canadian-based, public policy research institute that has a long history of conducting cutting-edge research into sustainable development.
Their newsletter is an excellent source of news and updates on international events in Sustainable Development.
Pesticides Action Network Europe
Pesticide Action Network (PAN) was founded in 1982 and is a network of over 600 non-governmental organisations, institutions and individuals in over 60 countries worldwide working to minimise the negative effects and replace the use of harmful pesticides with ecologically sound alternatives. Its projects and campaigns are coordinated by five autonomous Regional Centres.
