THE STORY OF PLASTIC, a ground breaking new documentary from the makers of the Story of Stuff, takes a sweeping look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect it has on the health of our planet and the people who inhabit it.
Spanning three continents, the film illustrates the ongoing catastrophe: fields full of garbage, veritable mountains of trash, rivers and seas clogged with waste, and skies choked with the poisonous emissions from plastic production and processing.
The Documentary aired on Discovery UK at 7pm on April 22nd - Earth Day. For more information check out The Story of Plastic website.
Sick of Plastic hosted a screening of the film in early May 2020 and held a webinar on the 14th of May to discuss the issues involved in the film, in particular the close links between the oil & gas industry and plastic production. If you missed the webinar you can watch it back here.
Viewing of this film is highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand the broader issues behind the plastic pollution problem and to understand how we must move towards turning off the tap if we are to succeed in reducing plastic pollution in our world. There are screenings still taking place across the world. Check out the screening listings here.
