Ireland produces nearly 300 million tonnes of plastic every year, half of which is for single use, after which it is thrown away.

Most of this comes from supermarkets.

We are calling on you, our supporters, to write to your local Supermarket and tell them to stop plastic pollution.

According to studies carried out by the EU, plastics account for 85% of marine litter and by 2050, estimates are that there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

Our local supermarkets can make a BIG difference.
