On Friday, October 21st, the Ballymore Eustace Tidy Towns group hosted a Food Rescue Event to highlight the huge problem with Food Waste here in Ireland. Top chef, Gillian Duff, gave a cooking demonstration and advice on nutrition and preserving food while preparing a delicious meal of chestnut mushroom soup, chicken stir fry and bread and butter pudding for the group to try.

Participants also learnt about food waste and its environmental impacts from resources provided by VOICE. The food on the night was kindly donated by Supervalu in Blessington and the event was supported by Kildare County Council.
