Zero Waste Cashel have something for everyone for this year's Reuse Month, from tool sharing, a thrifty fashion show and workshops including furniture upcycling and bicycle repair. For the kids there will be art recycling workshops - how to create art from waste materials and toy sharing libraries at the local schools. This year's action seems to have the whole community behind it! For more info on Zero Waste Cashel's Reuse Month events, visit their website www.zerowastecashel.ie
Here in Dublin VOICE have teamed up with WeShare, ShareCity and the Dublin Food Coop to host a pop up Library of Things inviting people to share items such as cook books, art easels, sports equipment, boardgames and tools. You can check out what's on offer on the Dublin Library of Things WeShare page before popping in to borrow or lend something.
October 7th is repair day, we're supporting a Fix Jam at the Dublin Food Coop for people to come along and learn how to repair their damaged or broken things, from bicycles to handbags. October 14th is slow fashion and upcycling day, Swapsies will host a swap shop and t-shirt to bag making session while Attention Attire will transform old tents into new waterproof ensembles. And on October 22nd we team up with the Dublin Food Coop to host a family friendly Halloween Food Rescue!
All events at the Dublin Food Coop are free and kindly supported by the Eastern Midlands Region Waste Office as part of National Reuse Month.
